Flore Faucheux is a multidisciplinary artist, trained outside of academic circuits. Since 2020, she has dedicated her practice to ceramics, working with stoneware in an unconventional way. With prolific flow, solitary production methods, and a blend of diverted scales and comedic results, she reimagines and recreates the artifacts of our time. Flore Faucheux organizes her life in a cyclical fashion. She alternates between long-term travel and committing to residencies in creative spaces – occupying many places that enrich the repertoire of all the mundane and magical things she sees and captures. Currently, she works at Sous Terre[1] to bring out the markers of our time. By reproducing the packaging of objects, she highlights modes of consumption and existence specific to our society in the here and now. A way for the artist to find in her practice a space of her own that can be communicated and understood by everyone. By choosing visual elements that characterize the places she passes through – a cigarette packet on an empty table, a dirty sock stranded in the corner of an apartment, a discarded lottery ticket tossed on the sidewalk – she glorifies these phantom objects and draws up a meticulous inventory of a world in the full bloom of transformation. Her colourful and shiny pieces rewrite the relationship we have with everyday objects and their uses - offering a delicate awakening to the poetry of possession. [1] Ceramic studio located in the 10th arrondissement of Paris.
