Since working in a florist as a child, I have had a particular interest in flowers. I love the shapes, scent and colour and how they make vibrant exclamations to any room or landscape they occupy. Over the last couple of years I have been interested in how we intersect with the natural world; how we shape it and how it shapes us. With these drawing studies I wanted to capture the strange, lively and bizarre features of flowers and at the same time reflect elements the equally strange people who inhabit the environment alongside them
