Sarah Atkinson is a visual artist living and working at the Southern tip of mainland Australia in South Gippsland. Creating is her way of making sense of the world and at the heart of every design or creation is a love and reverence for nature and the environment. By combining abstraction with layers of landscape, her abstract works operate as a map. Rather than topography, the layers of line and design allow her to portray an inward journey from the visual perception of a place or event to the emotional response, using painting as a visceral experience.
