‘I’m interested in the materiality of paint and how through thin washes of colour, I’m able to capture veils of movement and transition. ‘Standing in Motion’ explores feelings of impermanence, the uncanny and draws from the elusiveness of memory. In an expressive process of layering paint, I recall the evocative colours at dusk & the movement of the Dorrobbee Grasslands on Widjabul Wiabal land. The light tipped grasses reach up toward the sky, bending and leaning in.’
